This is a screen save I did from the askanexpert.com site. I asked the expert about the benefits of planting only native plants, in our case I wanted to know specifically about plants from Indiana, anyway, what are the benefits from having native plants in your landscape?
The site is a pretty neat site and I encourage everybody to use it, although it is sort of a novelty for me and probably for most people.

WRAPPING-
ReplyDeleteFor a final project I wanted to demonstrate activism so I wrote a letter to Congressman Steve Buyer asking for funding and attention to the disease, WNS, which is killing bats; and I wrote a letter to the Indiana DNR suggestiog that they create a podcast to inform the public (I have yet to receive an answer back from them). I think that if more people got outside and explored the natural places of Indiana they would care more and get involved, which is what I really want to see happen. I think that any school aged student could use this information to get involved- it is easier to get involved than you might think.
WAVING-
My ideas will be communiceted to others in the form of writing, the blog for instance, and in the form of modeling, whcih is what I did by wring the letters. I love sharing with others and talking about ideas- my friends and family know this well!
WISHING-
The project went well- I wish I had more time to work on it because I have more ideas I'd like to explore and write about, but overall things went well. I learned alot about computers and programs like askanexpert, and delicious, and how to upload a video on youtube and a blog, and how to use my digital camera to take pictures and post them on the web- I really like the video of my daughter! I also learned how to do a 'screen capture' and post it on a blog, which I did today.
If I had to do it again I might incorporate the inquiry steps as I went along, but it has worked okay to add things in as a comment.
